My name is Robbie.

I’m a civil engineer working in Civil Construction in Australia and I enjoy sharing content and stories from within industry.

Before that I played professional rugby league in the NRL. A slight change in career path, although I have noticed a few similarities between them. Weird one, hear me out;

Mainstream media in the NRL mostly cover the negative, headline grabbing side of the game.

They make money off the controversy.

However, when you put a magnifying glass on what's actually happening and are involved with a team, you start to see that it's mostly full of disciplined, hard-working people, making huge sacrifices to achieve their goals.

Our infrastructure projects are not too different.

We mostly hear about the wasting of public money, project delays and an industry in crisis. Yet majority of the project teams I've worked with, have achieved great results with significant challenges and setbacks.

I love hearing about new projects, innovations and how project teams are solving our problems with delivering our key pieces of infrastructure.

I thought I’d have a crack and share this side of the industry through an industry newsletter.
